GoDaddy sales data dump: sales up to $390k plus a big .org sale

GoDaddy releases domain sales including the 5th most expensive public .org sale ever.

It’s been a few months since GoDaddy sent out a list of top domain name sales. The company already sends them out a few months in arrears, so the list it sent out today is actually for January 2021. The upside is that, given the passage of time, more of the domains are put to use and we know who bought them. Here are the top public sales from January and who bought them.

steam.com $390,560 – I assumed that the video game company bought this domain. It would have been a great price, too. But the domain actually went to someone in China. It has a placeholder saying it’s reserved for a future project.

weshare.org $280,000 – Unite Health Share Ministries runs WeShare, a healthcare cost-sharing program. It’s an alternative to health insurance. WeShare.com is listed for sale, which makes me wonder how much the owner is asking for that domain. If you’re keeping track at home, this is the fifth-most expensive .org sale publicly revealed…ever.

skweezer.net $144,000 – Another shocking non-.com sale. Skweezer sells Instagram likes and followers. The .com is for sale.

btc365 .com $143,480 – This is a betting site where punters place their bets using crypto. I suspect there were many other big crypto-related sales at GoDaddy after January and crypto values skyrocketed.

goon.com $120,000 – The domain doesn’t resolve. Whois shows the owner is in Germany.

symphonic.com $115,000 – Symphonic offers digital music and video distribution, royalty collection, marketing, and more for creators.

pulseoximeter.com $90,000 – Zacurate sells pulse oximeters, a tool you use to measure your blood oxygen. It markets them to athletes, but they became popular during the pandemic because low blood oxygen can be a sign of Covid.

mediant.com $90,000 – Mediant is a shareholder communications company. It uses the domain name MediantInc.com. For some reason, it hasn’t yet forwarded this shorter new domain to the longer one.

own.co $87,750 – OwnBackup, a cloud data protection platform for Salesforce, bought this domain. It isn’t doing anything with the domain (at least, own.co doesn’t resolve yet) and the company uses OwnBackup.com for its web presence.

explanation.com $70,000 – The Explanation Company, LLC is a childhood education company. It got a nice price for this exact-brand-match domain.

nextplay.com $66,000 – The domain doesn’t resolve and is has Whois privacy.

dedicate.com $60,000 – The domain doesn’t resolve and Whois shows the owner is in Texas.

brensocatib.com $60,000 – Insmed Incorporated is a biopharmaceutical company. Brensocatib is an experimental treatment that Insmed is developing for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. It was just registered in 2019, which makes me wonder about the registration timing compared to Insmed’s historical announcements about the treatment.

parth.com $60,000 – The domain resolves to a coming soon page. The Whois record is private.

thecompany.com $60,000 – The domain has a certificate error. Whois shows the owner is in Colorado.

thefightclub.com $60,000 – Triller Fight Club, a partnership between music and social media service Triller and US rapper Snoop Dogg, promotes boxing matches.

whatislove.com $57,250 – According to its website, Paradisus Dei (Latin for the Paradise of God) was founded in 2001 by Steve Bollman to help families discover the superabundance of God within marriage and family life. The company hasn’t developed WhatIsLove.com yet.

braindump.com $50,000 – Russell Brunson, the guy behind ClickFunnels, bought this domain for what appears to be a course-creating software platform. His company’s name is MarketingSecrets.com. Brunson previously paid $600,000 to acquire Mastermind.com.

darb.com $50,000 – Darb.com has a private Whois record and resolves to a GoDaddy holding page.

letsbet .com $50,000- This domain has a private Whois record and resolves to a GoDaddy holding page.
